About us!

Ian is a carpenter and I was (now retired) an office/security manager in the Commonwealth Public Service. During school terms I now teach people over 55 years of age basic computer skills as a volunteer tutor for the University of the Third Age an educational resource group for Seniors.

Bullaburra is a tiny village of approx.1100 people and is situated in the mid-mountain area of the City of Blue Mountains a very popular tourist area. The air is fresh and clean, the humidity is very low, the winters are generally quite cold (sometimes with snow), the views go on forever and we have lived here for over 10 years.

Ian started using a computer about 6 years ago when I bought him a book on Chaos Theory. He was interested in how Fractals were made so we bought the books 'Fractal Creations 1 & 2'. In the back of one book was an advert for 'Ray Tracing Creations' so we bought that book which had a copy of   POV-Ray   included and he was away!
Ian has painted (oils & water paints) and taken photographs for many years and feels that learning ray tracing is a progression of these skills.

I am more 'computer literate' than Ian and play on the Internet, do the emails, get his images converted to Jpegs and sent to the IRTC competions etc.

I have also taught myself HTML and use the the software program Aardvark Pro to design web sites.

The original Blue Mountains Ropewerx which is an Outdoor Adventure business here in the mountains which belonged to our son prior to it's sale in 2001. His web site includes pictures of people abseiling, canyoning, rock climbing, bush walking etc.
The Ropewerx web site was accepted for nomination in the 1998 Internet Web Awards.

University of The Third Age Nepean-Blue Mountains Inc, which is part of an international educational resource for the over 55s. The U3A web site was accepted for nomination in the 1998 Internet Web Awards.
