BOOKING PROCEDURE & FEES

Each candidate must book in with ASPL (not CASA) and nominate which examinations they intend to sit for each sitting. The exam fees, currently $100, must be paid to ASPL at the time of booking the first examination. This $100 pays for one attempt only at each of the seven examination parts. If you sit only two exams in this sitting, then ASPL will record that you still have credits for the five remaining exam parts to use at some later time. In the unfortunate situation that you fail an examination or two, then you CANNOT use these remaining credits to re-sit those subject parts. You will have to purchase another ATPL exam for another $100.

How do I book my exam? You make your exam booking directly with ASPL using their "Application for Air Transport Pilot Licence Examination". You can contact ASPL directly or download one from their web site at www.aslexam.com. For your first exam you will have to include payment of $100 plus the ASPL Delivery Fee for the exam you wish to sit. For example, booking the Human Factors exam as your very first exam would cost $169.00 ($100 + $69 Delivery Fee). If your next exam was Meteorology, then when you book the Met exam with ASPL you would only pay the ASPL Delivery fee of $79.00 as you have already paid for the ATPL exam. Bookings should be received by ASPL at least 5 working days prior to the exam date.

Change of booking/cancellation/no show. Once an exam is booked, ASPL expect you to sit the exam as booked. Should you desire to transfer the booking, any request must be received at least 5 working days before the date of the booked exam and a transfer fee of $20 per subject will apply. A cancellation is treated as a transfer request. No fees will be refunded! If you simply fail to appear, then you will NOT be permitted to transfer or cancel the booking - ie you forfeit the delivery fee paid.

The Boeing 727 remains as the exam aircraft for "Flight Planning" and "Performance & Loading" indefinately, i.e. no change of aircraft is anticipated for some time. For more details about the examinations please read the Blue AIC H11/02.
