Few ranges anywhere carry so many natural attractions as the Blue Mountains. The basic appeal is created by the great sandstone ridges and ravines, which spread and sprawl in fantastic fashion and which, over the centuries, have become fissured and turreted by wind and rain to an extent that is almost awe-inspiring.

Several million visitors experience the beauty of the Blue Mountains every year and take part in many activities including bush walking, abseiling, rock climbing, canyoning, horse riding and bike riding, either visiting for the day or spending some time here.
