2001
2001 Catalina Park Racing Circuit - 40th anniversary.

Photos courtesy of Paul Morton

Catalina Park racing circuit located at Katoomba in N.S.W. celebrated its 40th birthday in February 2001. As can be seen from the photos, it was a little wet - in fact in bucketed down. That did not stop the enthusiasts from bringing out a range of beautiful cars on the day.

Catalina Park racing circuit located at Katoomba in N.S.W. held its final event in May. Katoomba once again turned on the weather that it is famous for with heavy rain. That did not stop the enthusiasts from tackling the circuit including Paul Mortons Strato's replica (car 175). I hope to have some footage for downloading available shortly. The Strato's was filmed on a very wet lap of the circuit by 4 cameras.

1999
1999 Classic Alpine Rally.

Photos courtesy of Brian Hanlon and Paul Morton

Over the weekend of the 9th & 10th of October 1999, two register members entered their cars in the "Classic Alpine Rally" organised by the Classic Rally Club. Paul Morton with his navigator Brian Hanlon drew car # 36 in their "Classic British Auto Spares" sponsored car. Gerry Duyvestyn navigated by Geoff Grimes drew car # 37. The 2 cars had a major effect on the spectators no matter where they went and were spectacular to watch. The event travelled from Lithgow to Orange in the central west of N.S.W. via every conceivable little back road on the first day, a distance of around 400 - 500km. The second day saw the field return to Lithgow via a totally different set of back roads and another 400 - 500km. The final result - one of the Stratos came in as first novice crew. Well done fellows.

The Alpha club of N.S.W. runs an Italian car day at Rozelle each year. The 1998 event was attended by Gerry in his car and managed to draw great deal of attention.
1999 "Save Catalina Racing Circuit" Day - Katoomba. N.S.W.

In January 1999 a protest meeting of types was held at the Catalina Racing Circuit at Katoomba in New South Wales. Paul attended with his replica and had a great day finished off with a few laps around the historic circuit. The day was attended by a great number of car clubs with the pit area of the circuit ending up with standing room only.

What a great day. Three cars at the same event. The blue car is an original and the two red cars are replicas. There attendance was well enjoyed by the crowds attending.
1999 "Z" CAR Nationals - Oran Park N.S.W

Photos courtesy of Stewart Cooke

Easter 1999 saw the "Z" car nationals being held at Oran Park in N.S.W. Paul took his Stratos along for a wet drive to meet up with another register member that was attending the event. The centre photo was displayed on the "Z" Car Nationals Web Page (sorry - link is now dead), the only non "Z". It was a good day despite the weather.
1999 Stoneleigh National Kit Car Show - England.

Photos courtesy of David Day

David visited the 1999 Stonleigh show. Those in the U.K. are well aware that this show is very large and well supported by Manufactureres and Clubs alike. These photos are of members cars from the "Stratos Replica Club" (sorry - link is now dead) based in the U.K. and show some very fine examples of replicas.
