Local Scenes

The Jamieson Valley lies to the south east of Katoomba and is one of many such valleys bordered by shear sandstone cliffs and inaccessible to all but bushwalkers, mountain bikers and National Parks and Wildlife vehicles. The valley floor is covered with a variety of forest habitats depending on aspects to weather and the sun.

Mt Solitary is a huge outcrop of rock rising several hundred feet about the Jamieson Valley floor. It is rather flat topped and provides good camping sites which can be reached by a strenous 4-5 hour walk from Katoomba and a short climb at the end.
