What to do at Berkana Cottage
So what will you do?
"Berkana" is a short walk (1.2km) into the village where there are many top restaurants one of which, Vulcans, has a rare 1 Chefs Hat Award. There are 2 pubs, numerous caf鳬 a bustling village life with bakeries, butcher, vegetable shop, small village supermarket, art galleries, craft and clothing shops.
You could drive or catch a train to Katoomba and explore the scenic sites, myriad shops, restaurants and galleries in this major mountain town, where there is also an IMAX cinema and some live theatre, jazz and folk music venues. There is also a quaint old fashioned cinema (Mount Vic Flicks) showing an excellent range of films at Mt Victoria (8kms west).
The cottage is also only a 20 minutes easy stroll to the famous Govett's Leap lookout and picnic area one of the most visited viewing sites in the mountains. Also less than 100 metres away is the start of the National Park and a spectacular bushwalk through Pope's Glen also down to Govett's Leap.
