In 2002, Bernard was writer-in-residence at Sir
John Soane's Museum in London, where his main
role was to write monthly fictional guidenotes
to the collection.You can read
them online at the Fictional Soane website.

In 2006, Bernard set up The Writing Workshop to
provide creative writing programs for children.
