OVERSEAS STUDENTS
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Currently we have/had students doing the course in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Chile, Fiji, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, the United States, Solomon Islands and of course right throughout Australia. So there is no reason why you should not be able to do our course. The actual ATPL (Aeroplanes) examinations, may be a different matter. The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) who administer the examinations, only permit exams to be sat in Fiji, New Zealand, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea. Apart from these locations CASA would prefer for you to come to Australia for the examination.

Our 1800 HELP LINE (this is a toll free phone call) is Australia wide, not world wide. Whilst you may not be able to use our HELP LINE, you can still obtain all the help you need through other means, e.g. Fax or e-mail, to enable you to obtain maximum benefit from the course. You can do the course and air mail (or fax, e-mail) all the assignments and/or your queries to us. A little bit slower but it still works quite successfully.

The course price for overseas students is the same as for Australian students. As foreign post offices do not accept Australian postage, you will have to pay the postage for sending your exercises and practise examinations to us.

To complete the course you will need to have access to all the current CASA documents (CARs, CAOs 20-95, Aeronautical Information Publication, En-Route Charts, En-Route Supplement-Australia, etc) or Jeppesen equivalents. CASA do not permit books containing actual examination questions to be produced. Candidates for the Australian ATPL examinations must both understand and be able to apply the principles to questions which they have NOT seen prior to the examination!

By doing this ATPL course, you will find it is both challenging and rewarding. There is a lot to learn, but the layout and organisation of each volume is designed to lead you progressively through the material without additional reference books. Difficult sections of the course include worked examples and/or solutions so that you should not get stuck at any stage. This course was designed from the outset to be a correspondence course, meaning there is an emphasis on helping you to understand the syllabus items. Not just to supply you with a minimum of information, but to teach you the understanding necessary so you can apply the procedures to any situation.

I trust that this assists you with your planning for the ATPL (Aeroplanes) examination.
