Secombe Aviation provides specialist ATPL (Aeroplane) courses for pilots who hold a Commercial Pilots Licence, designed to prepare you for the Australian ATPL (A) examinations.

While Secombe Aviation specialises in aeroplane theory, under the current examination structure, there are four common subjects for rotary wing pilots; Navigation, Meteorology, Human Factors and Air Law. We encourage those helicopter pilots to do these subjects.

In addition, courses are available for the conversion of an ATPL licence issued to a pilot from another country (eg UK or USA) to gain the Australian ATPL by completing what is called an overseas conversion (AAOS) examination. This course is the same be it for ATPL (A) or ATPL (H) and is simply an Air Law examination.
