Modellors: * As in have access to them but haven't had time to sit down & use them much yet - not even to create the traditional "mirrored or glass sphere floating over checkered infinite plain with sky sphere and optional lightning/flare/halo/fog effect of choice".
Objectives: Additional Comments 2 November 2025 A big hello to everyone who remembers me from my more active days :) Anyway, I'm Sonya Roberts, one of the IRTC advisory admins or whatever the heck us assistant admins are called. I used to be extremely active in the IRTC mailing list, entered every round, wrote some utilities (like my Tree .inc file) that got pretty good feedback, etc. I even wrote a column for the Rendering Times (www.spake.org/~rtimes) on advanced POV techniques. Then I got my dream job and found myself without time to render any more, durnit. I'm currently working as a level designer for a gaming developer, with average work days of 10+ hours in length (12, more often then not, and up to 18-20 in pre-deadline crunches...sometimes 24+ when things get behind). I spend all day making 3d maps out of verts and polys, wishing I had the time to sit down over in the Art Department with some of the professional-level software here at work and pick up some more skills and maybe run off an IRTC entry or two. I'd love to subvert our mini rendering farm to my own purposes....bwahahaha! I'd also love to finally get around to playing with POV 3.1, or finish the second part of the column I'd last been working on, or take a full weekend off from work...maybe even a real vacation... I still attempt to follow the mailing list, I'm still active as an admin, and someday (probably not until after our game ships) I hope to dive back into doing 3D art again. In the meantime I look at the stills and animation submissions with envy and do mental raytracings of what I'd *like* to be doing for each round, if only time permitted. One of these days all this rendering frustration will break loose, I'll lock myself into my bedroom at home with my PC, call in sick, and render SOMETHING, even if it's little more then another Winseat image ;) Sonya Web Page:www.pseudointeractive.com Email: sonya@pseudointeractive.com UIN: 6583151
