I'm Mark Poole, male, age 39 and I live in USA.

I began working on CSG in 1982 - 1984 in college (Vigina Tech, BA College of Architecture 1984). We were writing our own routines with the help of the late Prof. John Wade.
Everything was wireframe on Tectronix greenscreens written on a mainframe in APL. Was one of first to do my entire design thesis on computer at Va Tech.

I got a job doing software development, and all but forgot everything I ever knew about computer modeling. I have been drooling everytime I see a new advancement in computer modelling at the movies (TRON, Toy Story, T2, Jurasic Park, Star Wars I, etc.) and began to fantisize about picking it up again, but not seriously.

Then I stumbled across the POV-ray website and I went crazy. I downloaded Pov-ray and started messing around.
I also downloaded Moray 3.1 and registered it a few days later. Moray is a huge step up from creating objects by defining vertices!

We never worked with textures, lighting or animation, so I am overcoming a steep learning curve.

I entered the IRTC Stills competion for Horror (Oct 1999) in order to force myself to hone some of these skills. I will probably enter an animation competion next, after I get a chance to play with it.

I have more hobbies than time -- a brief list:
Fiction Writing
Researching Anti-Aging techniques
3-D photography
Film-making
Hiking (day-trips only -- camping is a cold, wet and miserable way to die).
Paintball
Carpentry
Sailing
Painting
Drawing
Weight-lifting

I live with my wife in an A-frame on a mountain with a fifty-mile view of the Blue Ridge mountains here in central Virginia. We have 3 cats, 5 dogs and a lot of house-cleaning.

Programs:
POV-Ray 3.1 - novice
Moray 3.1 - novice

Strengths:
Good at modeling.

Weakness: Textures, lighting, animation.

Working On: Creating an animation to explain molecular interactions in the body.

Objectives: To become adept at modeling and animating, create my own digital video productions.
