Well I'm not going to tell you exactly how old I am but I have two grown children (self- supporting!) Computers and calculators (slide rule city) were not available when I went to high school and college (BA History).
Besides women were supposed to hide "their light" while cleaning toilets, wiping their children's bottoms when changing diapers and being charming at parties..
My first computer was a 24K memory Atari that I persuaded my husband to buy so the kids (not me ...) could be involved in the new age.
I taught myself Basic and Pascal. I also took 7 years to get my BFA.
One day, I was walking through a book store and some how my eye was caught by the book Ray Tracing Creations and I bought it. It changed my life.
I am self taught. I have had to buy books on trig and analytic geometry. I struggle. I have taken the use of Anglo-Saxon 4 letter words to new heights. My fridge has grown new and unidentified blue green slime. But I have been able to do some really good art. I continue to learn. POV is so great and although it is difficult, it is a wonderful vehicle for making art.
WHERE ARE THE WOMEN? Besides Sonia -the great, there are none but me and a few others. Please encourage your sisters or female friends to be involved.
