My name is Jason Lloyd. I am 20 years old, and I am an IT Specialist for 3M Health Information Systems in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I have been working here for the past 2 years.
My first encounter with povray was in High School when a friend of mine saw an ad in a magazine. The software was free, just pay for the disks. It was version 1.something, and it was completely DOS based. I rendered my first sphere over a checkered plane, and was hooked!
My friend soon lost interest, and I found the interface too dificult, and the help files too hard to decode. I stopped rendering for a while.
After starting my job at 3M a co-worker showed me a web page that he had stumbled across: www.povray.org.
I immediately recognized the name and when I saw that they had a new windows based gui interface, I downloaded the software, and I have been a faithfull fanatic ever since.
